Marketing intern (Paid) – Job Description

Location: Remote or in-person (NYC area)

Hours: 5-10 hrs/week 

Pay: $15/hr 

Start: July 2021 – open end

Marketing Committee

As the Marketing Intern, you will become an active member of the Open Source & KoKo NYC Marketing Committee. You will join biweekly discussions about various marketing initiatives. This is a great opportunity to apply your interest in marketing, event promotion, or public relations, and grow your skills in marketing analytics, project management, and marketing strategy. 

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Social media posting & comment moderation
  • Managing social media accounts
  • Assist with event calendar planning
  • Social media event management
  • Finding new tools to execute marketing campaigns
  • Copywriting, proofing copy, and reviewing imagery
  • Attending marketing committee meetings with Industry professionals
  • Running marketing reports and analyzing results
  • Assisting with the development and execution of marketing strategy

Attributes that will help you in this role:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, majoring in marketing preferred
  • General understanding of marketing and social media marketing
  • Experience working in HTML and Web Analytics platforms (Google Analytics preferred) – a plus
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) – a plus
  • Familiarity with email marketing – a plus
  • Ability to multitask, switch priorities, and be flexible
  • Desire to collaborate with colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal and written
  • Passion and eye for well designed websites
  • Passion for art!
  • Flexible, open-minded and detail-oriented
  • Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
