Marketing intern (Paid) – Job Description
Location: Remote or in-person (NYC area)
Hours: 5-10 hrs/week
Pay: $15/hr
Start: July 2021 – open end

Marketing Committee
As the Marketing Intern, you will become an active member of the Open Source & KoKo NYC Marketing Committee. You will join biweekly discussions about various marketing initiatives. This is a great opportunity to apply your interest in marketing, event promotion, or public relations, and grow your skills in marketing analytics, project management, and marketing strategy.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Social media posting & comment moderation
- Managing social media accounts
- Assist with event calendar planning
- Social media event management
- Finding new tools to execute marketing campaigns
- Copywriting, proofing copy, and reviewing imagery
- Attending marketing committee meetings with Industry professionals
- Running marketing reports and analyzing results
- Assisting with the development and execution of marketing strategy
Attributes that will help you in this role:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, majoring in marketing preferred
- General understanding of marketing and social media marketing
- Experience working in HTML and Web Analytics platforms (Google Analytics preferred) – a plus
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) – a plus
- Familiarity with email marketing – a plus
- Ability to multitask, switch priorities, and be flexible
- Desire to collaborate with colleagues
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written
- Passion and eye for well designed websites
- Passion for art!
- Flexible, open-minded and detail-oriented
- Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
