Open Sound is a weekly music series taking place at Open Source Gallery on Wednesdays in the summer. Formerly called “Quarantine Jams,” the series began in 2020 when indoor spaces were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Curated by Lily White, Open Sound features a variety of musicians and genres. These weekly performances attract members of the neighborhood of all ages and backgrounds and dancing is strongly encouraged!

Open Source Gallery is all about diverse and creative programming whilst fairly remunerating our staff and contributors. That’s why we are WAGE-certified, because we greatly value appropriate compensation for all the artists that ultimately make Open Source and KoKo to what it is.
Our organization exists thanks to a mix of funding: grants, corporate support, contributions, individual giving and paid programming (KoKo). With enough funds we can develop diverse programming that benefit our local community. Unfortunately, we can already feel the developments in our Federal Government. What’s happening in DC is going to be detrimental to the arts community at large and we are very aware that we have to secure other ways of funding to make sure that we can operate as intended and keep adding value to our community.

We started Open Sound – our musical performance summer series – five years ago. It has been a very popular and invigorating performance series, that gave a stage to a wide array of musicians. We would love to organize Open Sound concerts again this  upcoming summer, but your support is imperative to making this happen. Donate Now!
