Grace Toledo is an Aroace artist who creates marker-draw artworks, often utilizing multiple art medias and recycled items such as the street sign used in this piece.

I’ve often been told that I can’t be Aroace; that humans are sexual by nature. And, for the longest time, I believed that; I gave in. The world told me I couldn’t be, and so I thought that I couldn’t. I tried dating boys, girls, all and in between, but I inevitably ended one relationship as quick as the last. Romance had never felt anything more than performative to me, like I was putting on a mask. But why SHOULD I need another person to feel comfortable with MYSELF? This piece represents my identity, in its most natural form. I’m Grace Toledo, I am comfortable in my skin, with my identity, and I am Aroace.
