Garage Sale is a temporary site for face-to-face transactions and the possibility of negotiation, as well as a space to value and revalue objects in monetary terms. A selection of films banned in various socioeconomically strong countries (e.g., Germany, China, Japan, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia) will be for sale, priced according to the population of the country in question. Films banned in China will be the most expensive because the greatest number of people are forbidden to see them. As in any garage sale, these prices are subject to negotiation. Once the deal is closed,10% of the net income will be donated to an NGO of the artist’s choosing.

Film Screening, a program of sample works, will take place on the opening night; films will be selected by popular vote.

Wong works because she does not understand; she works to develop a grasp of things that she cannot achieve through rational thought. She is interested in Space, and alternative ways of understanding Space. Her work is about locating, measuring, and quantifying the intangible. Wong Kit Yi is a New York-based artist born in Hong Kong. She graduated from the MFA program at Yale University and moved to New York in 2012.
