WHAT:
Open Source will be hosting again in 2021 our famous “Quarantine Jams” at the gallery on 17th and 6th ave. Putting together some of the neighborhood’s great musicians, for casual jam sessions, Open Source will be putting these on at various times this season. With no inside gigs, let’s take advantage of summer and of Open Source’s wide open gallery space.  Wander by, give a donation and maybe dance!

 

Quarantine Jam 5/27

RICHARD X BENNETT (Pianist/Composer) plays unique and soulful jazz with a sound all his own. He has five jazz and electronica releases on Ropeadope Records as well as six critically acclaimed raga-based records on Indian labels.  In New York, he has performed at Lincoln Center Out of Doors, The Guggenheim Museum, The Rubin Museum and Central Park Summerstage. Internationally, he has played in over twenty countries including a two month tour of China and India in 2019. His latest album “RXB3” with Adam Armstrong (bass) and drummer Julian Edmond (drums) will be released by the British jazz label Ubuntu Music May 28 2021.
