Who or What Inspires You?

Storytellers will tell us about a time they saw someone in a whole new way. They will tell us what changed and why?

Storytellers will share a story about who or what inspires them and how? They will tell how that inspirational place or person influenced or changed them.

MARCUS C. JOHN:
Marcus C. John is a Poet, Author, and Musician hailing from Yonkers, NY. The “Preeminent Poet of Yonkers” began writing at the early age of eight, and spent his teenage years and twenties on stage. In 2021 he was featured on PBS television reading his original poem “Smudges” in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In 2019 Marcus released “The Book of John: A Collection of Poem, Prose, and Rhyme” and has since traveled the United States with his work. Mr. John has taught workshops and performed at various Universities including Utica College, Delaware State University, and Virginia State University; as well as reputable schools and organizations including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Hudson River Museum, and The Masters School. Marcus C. John writes with an open heart, while bringing in the knowledge and wisdom from his experiences in life to tell an honest and relatable story.

 

INDIGEAUX SOL:
Indigeaux is a multifaceted creator who hails from Brooklyn, NY. She has always possessed a love for writing, and especially poetry, since she was a child – utilizing it, even at a young age, as an outlet to release her bottled up emotions. She now uses her writing to help uplift women and tell stories that are relatable, and helpful for self-healing. She is a self-published author of two books available on amazon.com ( I Manifest and Prelude to Love). She is currently embarking on her newest passion and career as a Life Coach, which she is trained in the self-discovery process (Life Purpose Institute) and coaches clients in finding their life purpose, new identity, etc. Amongst being an author and life coach, Indigeaux is also a content creator of all varieties , entrepreneur and brand consultant.She temporarily resides in Florida, but is a true expat of the world who loves to travel and be adventurous. Richard X Bennett:
Pianist/Composer Richard X Bennett plays modernistic and soulful music with a wide ranging sound all his own. He also makes videos and has written articles for magazines worldwide, including Scroll.in and DooBeeDooBeeDoo. His latest album RXB3 was released by the British jazz label Ubuntu Music in May 2021.

PAULA JEANINE BENNETT:
Born in the heartland of the USA (Cleveland, Ohio), Brooklyn-based percussionist, vocalist, composer and visual artist Paula Jeanine Bennett is an American original with a global focus. She has been a cultural ambassador in India, Morocco and Indonesia, often collaborating with diverse communities as an arts activist. Paula is a grant recipient from New Music USA, the O’Donnell-Green Music and Dance Foundation and the Aaron Copland Foundation. She is on the staff of the Juilliard School and is currently the artist-in-residence at historic Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights.
Paula lives on the Brooklyn waterfront and can see the Statue of Liberty from her rooftop.
