How to Build a Fire: The Wild Unknown

How to Build a Fire: The Wild Unknown

Friday, March 27th,
8PM -10PM

We will meet on ZOOM

Stories hold space for our experiences to be shared, digested and held in the histories of our bodies. To acknowledge and celebrate that very human process in this time of isolation and uncertainty, How To Build A Fire is sticking to our original theme – The Wild Unknown – and following suit with so many community events to jump online for this month’s gathering.

Our regular hosts, Christina and Stacie, will be holding the meeting room open to share tales of the new ways we have learnt to find connection, the stories you have remembered or stumbled upon that have given you strength and pause for thought, or just something you would like to share with an intention towards this warm community. Unlike our regular format, all are welcome to share a feeling or tale, just drop us a line a little before so we can facilitate all of your beautiful voices!

In keeping with the spirit of our regular monthly romp this will also be a space for casual chats, dancing, and imbibing (perhaps instead of popping a donation in our old rusty box for your glass of top shelf pino gris or modelo, donate at the link below). We will have an accompanying playlist to warm you up or down, and time to raise a glass of sparkling (fresca or champagne) to toast our resilience and creativity.

So take our very well washed, digital hand, and step into The Wild Unknown with How To Build A Fire, Friday night at 8pm on Zoom.

———————————

How to Build a Fire was created by poet Terence Degnan. Each month, four diverse individuals share personal narratives centered around a theme. Their stories weave together an illustration of the human experience. This year’s hosts are Christina Marks and Stacie Evans.

How to Build a Fire takes place at Open Source Gallery — a welcoming, nurturing, intimate, safe environment, a participant-driven art initiative that provides space, community and conceptual context for creative play and critical commentary.
