The Beauty Temple is staffed by Brooklyn beauticians* offering free hair, makeup, and nail appointments to visitors and encouraging the public to take risks with their appearance. The professional practice of beauticians is presented as both performance art and a spiritual practice, akin to that of shamans, priests and fortune-tellers.
Out of courtesy to other clients, please refrain from booking more than one appointment per person per day.

About our Beauticians
Mich Li is a NYC based queer stylist, specializing in alternative haircuts and vivid dyes. With a background in visual arts and illustration, they are a jack of all trades and hustles, having experience in tattooing, nail tech, textile design, and jewelry design under their belt. Owner of indie hair salon “GLOOM SALOON,” Mich serves the nyc queer community as a “house-call hair doctor.” Mich is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. Book an appointment with Mich!
Aubrey Aline goes by Aub, uses she/her pronouns and enjoys specializing in gender affirming cuts, razor cuts, curly cuts and incredible color. A Gemini who loves to laugh, dance and help people feel better about themselves and honing in on their own personal style! Book an appointment with Aub!

Hannah Lillevoy (they/them) is a Brooklyn based mother, mover, and maker who seeks to support and supply authenticity and queer joy through all of their endeavors. They were the first employee at the women owned and operated Sara June salon in Gowanus, and have now been working there for 9+ years. They love providing a safe and comfortable space for their clients to try new things with their style, whether that be first time pixie cuts or transitioning to grey.
