What can you expect at Open Source Gallery

You are invited to an interactive “Social Pharmacy” in our unconventional art gallery! Within this Pharmacy, which is part of an exhibition by Jody Wood called Collecting Health, we invite you to exchange simple healing recipes. The room will be full of lots of little jars, stories, and sculptures that other visitors have left for you to take. Maybe you will find the perfect “medicine” for you or your family and friends! There will be lots of materials, a way to cook, space for writing and sculpting, and a place to mix and match herbs that are often used for common remedies and medicine. We will workshop ideas that might help form and maintain friendships or soften the effects of a breakup. We will talk about actions and medicines that help us, such as a cup of tea that helps you focus, breathing exercises that calm you down, or your mom’s remedy that helps the common flu. Maybe your family has some tried-and-true healing ideas that seem strange to others, because they are from a different cultural background. We would love to hear about it all and leave some of your “medicine” in our social pharmacy.
